~Our Mission Statement~
Neighbors Against Cancer’s (NAC) mission is to help our neighbors who are fighting against cancer. We are here to help them financially with day to day expenses when possible.
~Why Help Is Needed~
Neighbors Against Cancer (NAC) wants to help those who are undergoing cancer treatments, whether it is Chemotherapy at DayKimball Hospital in Putnam, CT., William W Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT., or other hospitals where treatment may be required.

Neighbors Against Cancer (NAC) is the brainchild of Gail and Patty Erskine.
Sisters who have a passion for helping their community and others.
“Assistance will encompass expenses incurred by those fighting cancer. The loss of income often experienced, hits families and individuals hard.
They are faced with paying their everyday bills, while still providing for their family or themselves. Neighbors Against Cancer will assist with these expenses so families and individuals don’t suffer needlessly while fighting their cancer.“
Types of Treatments/Side Effects
Types Of Treatments-
- Chemotherapy
- Hypothermia
- Immunotherapy
- Stem Cell Implant
- BioMarker Testing
- Hormone Therapy
- Photodynamic Therapy
- Targeted Therapy
- Surgery
Side Effects-
All listed treatments have side effects. Not all receiving therapy will suffer side effects, and some will be fortunate enough to have only mild symptoms. Side effects include the following:
- Anemia
- Appetite Loss
- Bleeding
- Bruising
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Hair Loss
- Fatigue
- Infection
- And more…
Fighting cancer is not an easy fight. Our neighbors and friends need our help. They need YOUR help. Don’t let them fight this disease alone. We will stand with them when they need assistance, both in our friendship and financially.

Enjoy getting out on the water? Come join us June 8th! We’re paddling for HOPE.
There is no registration fee, but we do ask that you please make a donation. Proceeds to benefit Neighbors Against Cancer.
Location: Riverside Park 26 Greenway Drive. Brooklyn, Ct
Registration Opens @ 8:30 am
Launch is @ 10 am
PFD required for ALL participants
Length of paddle is up to you (Go 1 mile or 8 miles)
Hot dogs and burgers provided after the paddle.
